Lorenzo Marsili

Founder of the European Initiative for Media Pluralism and Founder/Director of European Alternatives

Lorenzo Marsili is the founder and spokesperson of the European Initiative for Media Pluralism. He also serves as the organization's spokesman. Using the European Citizens’ Initiative — a new tool of transnational participatory democracy that allows citizens from at least seven EU member states to present legislation directly at the European Commission — Lorenzo is currently coordinating more than 100 partners to foster real change in media policy.

Lorenzo is also the founder and current director of European Alternatives, a transnational organization promoting democracy in Europe. Working from offices in France, Italy, Romania and the United Kingdom, European Alternatives facilitates the participation of citizens in European political processes by building transnational platforms and campaigns and by conducting training and awareness-raising activities.
