Paul S. Mason is the Chief Strategy Officer of KCETLink, the independent, public media network created by the recent merger of Link TV and KCET-TV, Los Angeles.

Before the merger Mr. Mason was President and CEO of Link Media, the independent television, on-line, and mobile distribution network based in San Francisco. Since its founding in 1999, Link TV has been an innovative curator of news, documentary and feature content from around the world. Under Mason’s leadership, Link Media not only merged with KCET, but has also distinguished itself with several breakthrough initiatives:

The Link TV World News app - a top-rated mobile app for news and documentary film in partnership with the Bertha Foundation
“Link Asia” - the weekly review of regional news and social media trends gets expanded distribution to 125 U.S. markets
“Borgen” – the acclaimed Danish dramatic series “Borgen” became the signature drama on Link TV, the sole US distributor for this Danish Noir sensation
“Stand Up Planet,” - an international Comedy /Reality series funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and focused on issues of global development is in pre-production

Before joining Link Media, Mr. Mason was Senior Vice President at ABC News, and the executive in charge of in charge of Nightline, This Week, political coverage, and ABC News Radio. During a 28-year career at ABC News, Mr. Mason was an Emmy-Award winning show-runner and executive producer of primetime news hours, and of World News Tonight Saturday and Sunday. Earlier in his career, Mason was based in Miami for ABC News covering war, politics and drugs in Latin America, and race and government policy in the US, England and South Africa.
