Sam Fuqua

Station Manager of KGNU Community Radio

Sam Fuqua is the station manager of KGNU, a community radio station serving Denver and Boulder with FM and AM frequencies and online. He previously served as KGNU's news and public affairs director. In that position, he oversaw the station's move away from NPR affiliation toward increased local news and talk programming and more independent national programming.

In 2001, he created the Capital Coverage Project, which provides daily news reports from the Colorado state legislature to the member stations of the Rocky Mountain Community Radio network. He's also an elected member of the Boulder Valley Board of Education, the governing body of a 29,000-student school district in Boulder County.
