Jon Vidar

Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Tiziano Project

Jon is the founder and digital strategist behind the boutique interactive storytelling agency, Uncharted Digital. As the co-founder and executive director of The Tiziano Project, he is intricately familiar with storytelling, community engagement and the needs of nonprofit organizations.

In the last several years, Jon's projects have ranged from countering industry spin around fossil-fuel disasters to teaching new media journalism in places like Iraqi Kurdistan, Kosovo and an Apache Indian reservation. These projects earned SXSW Interactive's Award for Activism and three 2012 Webby Awards (more than any company other than Volkswagen). This work was also honored with the 2011 Online Journalism Award for Community Collaboration, beating both CNN and NPR.

For five years, Jon also served as the emerging technology specialist for the University of Southern California Libraries, where he received an M.A. in communication management. He is currently an adjunct professor teaching graduate-level courses on new media journalism.
