Danielle Killian studies news coverage of violence and crime, identifying the patterns that drive public opinion about our safety and security. She is the principal consultant and founder of Killian Communications, a Los Angeles-based practice dedicated to building more resilient, connected communities.

Danielle's work is informed by nearly 20 years of public relations experience in areas including product placement, corporate communications and community engagement. Her previous studies include analysis of children living in Los Angeles County, electronic voting and pre- and post-911 immigration coverage.

Danielle has lived in Los Angeles for 10 years and and earned her master’s in public policy from Pepperdine University.
