Sharon Morris

Director of Library Development and Innovation at the Colorado State Library

Sharon Morris is the director of library development and innovation at the Colorado State Library. She is also a doctoral student at Simmons College, where she is studying managerial leadership in libraries.

Sharon oversees statewide programs including the federally funded Broadband Technology and Opportunity (BTOP) grant, the public library leadership, youth services and school libraries. She is the continuing education coordinator for Colorado librarians and serves on the governor's digital literacy task force. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Denver and facilitates leadership institutes nationally.

Sharon has launched and coordinated award-winning projects including the Colorado BTOP grant, the Plinkit project, the AskColorado virtual reference service and the Denver Public Library Read Aloud Program. She was recognized in 2005 as a Library Journal North American mover and shaker.
