Elisa Kreisinger

Video Artist

Elisa Kreisinger is a video artist based in New York City. Her latest work includes remixing Mad Men into feminists and The Real Housewives into lesbians. Her work has been featured in galleries and festivals throughout the U.S. and Europe, including MIP Cube (France), the Museum of Film and TV (Berlin) and SXSW.

A prominent voice in the remix and online video community since 2006, Elisa speaks on campuses, including Harvard, MIT and USC, and at industry events throughout the world. Her success in engaging female audiences online has led to collaborations with Art 21, Eileen Fisher, NBC, Paramount Pictures, Women Make Movies and the Women’s Media Center.

An advocate and activist, Elisa works with American University’s Center for Social Media, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society to fight for a fair use-friendly Web that acknowledges the rights of artists and content creators. Elisa blogs at PopCulturePirate.com but she’s #NotALifestyleBlogger because not everything in creative life can be remedied with an Instagram filter.
