Media Critic and the Founding Director of the Park Center for Independent Media

Jeff Cohen, media critic and lecturer, is the founding director of the Park Center for Independent Media at Ithaca College, where he is an associate professor of journalism. His latest book is Cable News Confidential: My Misadventures in Corporate Media. He has been a commentator on CNN, Fox News and MSNBC, and was senior producer of MSNBC’s Donahue until it was terminated for political reasons three weeks before the Iraq invasion.

Cohen founded the media watch group FAIR in 1986, and cofounded the online activist group RootsAction.org in 2011. His columns on media issues have been published on such websites as Alternet, CommonDreams, the Huffington Post and Truthout — and in dozens of dailies, including the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, the Miami Herald, USA Today and the Washington Post.
