Jordan McCarthy

Technical Program Associate for theĀ Open Technology Institute

As a technical program associate at the Open Technology Institute, Jordan McCarthy contributes technical expertise to programs aimed at making essential information technologies as open, accessible and empowering as possible for all users. He provides infrastructural support for OTI at large, with a particular emphasis on building sustainable technical training and documentation platforms. He also works with OTI's privacy group on several privacy and security research projects.

Jordan earned a B.A. in science, technology and society from Stanford University and is currently pursuing a master's degree in media studies there. He has contributed to research on electronic voting, media multitasking, trust in online spaces and other issues concerning the relationship between information technology and social progressivism. He has also participated in several key technology-related political campaigns, and has over eight years of experience in systems administration in higher education and nonprofit environments.
