Megan Sheehan

Media Production Coordinator for the Vermont Workers' Center

Megan Sheehan is the media production coordinator for the Vermont Workers' Center (VWC). Thanks to the grassroots organizing of the VWC's Health Care Is a Human Right Campaign, in 2011 Vermont became the first state in the country to pass universal health-care legislation based on human rights principles. The campaign focused on achieving health-care reform that places the needs of people and our communities first.

Megan is currently focused on launching the People’s Media Project, the media and communications arm of the Vermont human rights movement. Megan's first love is radio, having started out as a DJ on a small college/community station in St. Paul, Minn.

Before joining the VWC, Megan worked at the Prometheus Radio Project, where she helped farm-worker organizations, environmental justice groups, civil rights coalitions and many others start community radio stations. Megan is continuing to use radio as an organizing tool with the launch of the VWC's Put People First Radio.
