Gan Golan

Author, Artist and Agitator

Gan Golan is a New York Times bestselling author, artist and agitator. His books include Goodnight Bush and The Adventures of Unemployed Man.

As a visual artist he has designed posters for Erykah Badu, Nick Cave, Ben Harper, Willie Nelson, Queen Latifah and Henry Rollins. To the surprise of sports fans and activists alike, the fake baseball team he created to hold corporations accountable, the Tax Dodgers, was put on display at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.

He has worked for 20 years as a community organizer on issues ranging from police accountability to global justice. He is now an Innovation Fellow at the Citizen Engagement Lab, helping organizations understand, support and deploy arts and culture in the service of social and economic justice.

In 2011, he moved to New York City after getting his dream job on Wall Street: occupying it.
