Janine Brito

Janine Brito is a stand-up comic, and a writer and on-air correspondent on Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell

Janine started doing stand-up comedy in St. Louis and has performed at clubs and theaters throughout the U.S. and Hong Kong. A rising star on the San Francisco scene, she is the winner of the 2009 SF Women's Comedy Competition, and the recipient of Rooftop Comedy's 2010 Silver Nail Award. 7x7 called her "one of SF's more daring voices" and one of "the seven funniest people in town," and in 2011 the East Bay Express named her the “best comedian with a message.”

Along with fellow Bay Area comics W. Kamau Bell and Nato Green, Janine is a member of “Laughter Against the Machine,” a grassroots comedy tour that is the subject of a forthcoming documentary. She’s performed recently at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, the Glasgow International Comedy Festival and Sketchfest.

W. Kamau Bell calls her “a sarcastic, snarky smart bomb of comedy funk straight from the ʼ80s,” and the SF Weekly says she’s “a mean lesbian,” but she’s pretty sure they mean it in a good way.
