Let's get right to it: We've all had enough of the racist, sexist, homophobic and otherwise insulting stereotypes perpetrated by the media.
For three days in Denver we will laugh, cry and strategize to create a roadmap for change. We'll be joined by Hollywood stars (Evangeline Lilly!), artists (An Xiao Mina!), award-winning journalists (Amy Goodman!), comedians (Hari Kondabolu!), and hundreds of activists, technologists, makers, students and more.
Plus, well, YOU. (We hope.)
The National Conference for Media Reform is a whirlwind: We're talking 60-plus sessions and workshops, keynote speeches and rallies — plus live performances, comedy, music, a film festival, parties, an old-school soapbox, a hacklab, book signings and more.
This is the best possible place to come learn how we can change the media for the better. From ensuring everyone can get online and communicate freely to creating public policies that promote independent journalism, the National Conference for Media Reform covers a lot of ground.
